NASW Arkansas Secures Funding for Naloxone Hero Program to Combat Opioid Overdoses

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - March 6, 2025 - PRLog -- Little Rock, AR – The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Arkansas Chapter is proud to announce that its application for the Naloxone Hero Program through the Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership (ARORP) has been approved for funding. This initiative is a crucial step toward addressing substance use disorder and preventing opioid overdoses in Pulaski County, Little Rock, and surrounding areas.

As part of this program, NASW Arkansas will receive a $2,664.00 credit from the Arkansas Naloxone Bank to obtain and distribute naloxone to families and community members in need.

Upcoming Training at the 2025 NASW Arkansas Annual Conference

To ensure the community is fully equipped with knowledge and skills regarding naloxone administration, NASW Arkansas is hosting a training session at the upcoming 2025 NASW Arkansas Annual Conference. The session will be led by Gavin Branson and will take place on:

• Date & Time: Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM
• Conference Location: Little Rock Marriott

This training will provide essential guidance on naloxone distribution, administration, and community engagement strategies to effectively combat opioid overdoses. Social workers, community leaders, healthcare professionals, and concerned citizens are encouraged to attend.
