Medical Arts Clinic in Greenwood, MS Welcomes New Tenant Vascular & Vein Institute of the SouthBy: Medical Arts Clinic at River Road, Greenwood
Located in sight of the old Keesler Bridge in downtown Greenwood, the Medical Arts Clinic was one of the first medical clinics built in Greenwood using modern commercial construction standards. The clinic was built in 1962 by Dr. George Nassar, whose father, an immigrant building contractor from Lebanon, oversaw the project. Also notable, it was the first medical clinic with central air conditioning. "We are thrilled to see another medical practice in Greenwood that specializes in a vital service," said John Pittman Hey, building manager and chief programmer at GMT Corporation. "Until VVIS's arrival we did not have anything local for specialty vein and vascular care. We have always wanted to be a part of providing great medical care and services to Greenwood and Leflore County at the Medical Arts Building. VVIS learned about the Medical Arts building through the work of Thomas Gregory, the Executive Director at Greenwood-Leflore- The Medical Arts Building also includes Second Chance Healthcare, a clinic that provides mental and behavioral health services in the west wing of the building. Offices and rooms at the Medical Arts Building are pre-wired for internet and telephone service, as well as wi-fi access. The clinic offers ample on-site parking and ground-level double doors to accommodate the handicapped at the rear of the building.
