Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) occurs approximately 350,000 times each year outside of hospitals, and survival is only possible with early recognition, bystander CPR, and the prompt use of an AED. The Reel in a Heartbeat event serves to raise awareness about this critical issue while honoring Ed's memory. On September 14, 2024, Ed tragically passed away after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest while fishing offshore. His crew, who had been trained in CPR, performed lifesaving measures for over two hours until rescue teams arrived. Although Ed's event wasn't survivable, his crew's quick and effective response gave him the best chance possible. This event is designed to provide attendees with the skills to save a life in similar circumstances. Participants will receive free CPR training and learn how to use an AED, with an opportunity to earn a CPR certification card for a small processing fee. A Charitable Event in Ed's Honor In addition to CPR training, this event will raise funds for the Gift of Life Donor Program, which provides life-saving support to transplant patients and families. Ed's legacy continues to touch lives even in death, as his family and friends raise funds to help others in need. Event Details:
