PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - March 18, 2025 - PRLog -- NewTek LVDT linear position sensors and signal conditioners are used in aircraft test stands and maintenance training equipment to provide accurate feedback on the position of actuators in smaller light aircraft. Known for their high reliability over millions of cycles, these sensors operate effectively in a wide range of temperatures and are resistant to pressures, shock, and moisture, making them ideal for use in aircraft simulators and test stands where precision and durability are important.

Aircraft test stands are specialized equipment used to test, diagnose and troubleshooting various components on aircraft, including engines, systems and components before and after installation. Maintenance training equipment are training devices or simulators that prepare maintenance personnel for the procedures, techniques and systems encountered while working on aircraft.

NewTek AC-operated LVDT position sensors including the NT-R-750 series or NT-M-375 (https://www.newteksensors.com/lvdt-sensors/m-375-series/) series for smaller spaces are employed on both aircraft test stands and maintenance training equipment (MTE) to monitor and simulate actuator movement. The LVDTS are critical for testing the performance and durability of actuators under varying loads and motions, ensuring that aircraft components are safe and operational for long periods.

Versatile for different training scenarios, the position sensors are used to simulate the movement of various types of actuators in hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems, allowing trainees to understand how mechanical systems function and learn to troubleshoot them.

NewTek NTC-6000 LVDT Signal Conditioners (https://www.newteksensors.com/lvdt-sensors/ntc-6000/) are also paired with LVDTs embedded within actuators to process output in providing reliable feedback about actuator positioning.  In test stands, feedback is important for the operational testing of aircraft components. When integrated into MTE, the output from the signal conditioners help maintenance personnel in learning how to troubleshoot and repair aircraft in simulated scenarios.

The combination of LVDTs and signal conditioners provides accurate reliable feedback about the position of actuators, allowing for realistic simulations and precise control responses in both aircraft training and maintenance.

Manufactured in the USA, both LVDTs and signal conditioners are available with quick lead times. For more information, refer to https://www.newteksensors.com/lvdt-sensors/ or contact Mike Marciante at 856-406-6877.
