New Podcast Series, Missing Man – The Vince Welnick Story

BATAVIA, N.Y. - March 31, 2025 - PRLog -- The first three episodes of a six-part podcast series, Missing Man – The Vince Welnick Story, is available now, offering an in-depth look at the life and career of the late keyboardist Vince Welnick. Produced and written by veteran music journalist Thom Jennings, the podcast will feature exclusive interviews with key figures from Welnick's career, including his widow, Laurie Welnick; Fee Waybill and Prairie Prince of The Tubes; Todd and Michele Rundgren; Mike Duffy; Bobby Strickland; David Gans; Dennis McNally; and Scott Guberman.

The series is funded by GO ART! in Genesee County and traces Welnick's journey through his time with The Tubes, Todd Rundgren, The Grateful Dead, and his own band, Missing Man Formation. The narrative begins in May 1985 at The Treadway Inn, following a Tubes concert at Darien Lake, where Jennings first met Welnick.

"Vince Welnick was a brilliant musician whose story has often been overshadowed," said Jennings. "Through this series, we aim to celebrate his contributions and explore his struggles with honesty and humanity."

Each episode will delve into different phases of Welnick's career, providing firsthand insights from those who knew and worked with him. The podcast will also explore Welnick's creative genius, his personal challenges, and his impact on the music world.
