NEW BEDFORD, Mass. - April 2, 2025 - PRLog -- On May 2nd, WAMPTRONICA, in collaboration with Oversoul Theatre Collective, Underground Railroad Cafe, and Poly-Groove Records, will present VIBING IN THE PARK, a vibrant Deep Afro Jazz House Music dance party at Monte's Park (214 Acushnet Ave, New Bedford, MA) from 4:30 to 7:30 PM. This event kicks off WAMPTRONICA's annual The SESSION pop-up dance party tour, showcasing their dedication to elevating Indigenous artists and reclaiming public spaces through culture, music, and movement.

WAMPTRONICA's mission is rooted in celebrating First Nations and Indigenous artists by providing a platform for their voices, while also using public spaces to engage communities with art and cultural expression. The event will feature a live performance by WAMPTRONICA, a collective known for blending Afrobeat, soulful house, jazz, and rare groove, alongside live sets from The ZYG 808, Mwalim, and legendary vocalist Navalle "Chops" Turner.

For WAMPTRONICA, VIBING IN THE PARK marks a key moment in their movement to bring Indigenous voices and art into public spaces. The event is the official launch of The SESSION Tour, an annual series of pop-up dance parties that bring high-energy performances and culturally rich experiences to communities across eastern Massachusetts. The tour celebrates Indigenous traditions while integrating modern dance music into the fabric of the community.

"We've always believed in bringing the underground to public spaces," says The ZYG 808, co-founder of WAMPTRONICA. "This movement is about giving marginalized artists a platform while creating spaces where people can experience the power of music, culture, and dance. We're building community through art and expression."

Mwalim, co-founder of WAMPTRONICA and Artistic Director of Oversoul Theatre Collective, adds, "Our goal is to create spaces where culture and history come alive, bridging generations and uniting people through the soul of music."

This event is especially significant to Oversoul Theatre Collective, a group dedicated to amplifying Indigenous voices, particularly in New Bedford's historic cultural district.
