World Baseball Classic Qualifier Comes to Jupiter, Florida September 19-23

Aug. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- The 2013 World Baseball Classic will be an international baseball competition. It will be the first WBC to include a qualification round that expands participation in the tournament from 16 to 28 teams.  Joe Torre has been name coach of the USA Team.

Japan won the first two World Baseball Classics, in 2006 and 2009.

There will be four qualifying tournaments held in 2012 for the 2013 World Baseball Classic, with one team advancing from each to join the 12 squads that had qualified previously by winning at least one game in the 2009 World Baseball Classic. Each of the pools includes one team with previous experience in the WBC, but which failed to win a single game during the 2009 tournament.

Qualifier 1
September 19 to September 23 in Jupiter, FL USA (played at Roger Dean Stadium)
Participating teams:  France,  Israel,  South Africa,  Spain
