Jan. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Local Dealer Targeted by Theft Ring Turns Misfortune Into Customer Savings

After 6 tailgates were stolen off their new Chevrolet Silverado trucks by a local theft ring, the owners of Chevy 21 in Bethlehem are turning their misfortune into customer savings by offering all new trucks to the public at up to $15,000 off the dealer listed price.

Bethlehem, PA (1/25/13)  On Saturday January 19th, Chevy 21 in Bethlehem, PA was among 10 Lehigh Valley auto dealers targeted by an elaborate theft ring for auto parts.   Among the items stolen from their dealership were 6 tailgates off brand new Chevy Silverado trucks.

Jerry Horst, owner of Chevy 21, says he was shocked to discover that the theft at his store was not an isolated case.  According to reports, local car owners were also targeted by the group, in addition to major dealerships.

“Beyond the loss we experienced at the dealership, I was saddened to learn how many people in the area had their personal vehicles vandalized by the same group.  As someone in the auto business, I know how important it is for people to have a car to get to work or pick the kids up from school…and any downtime because of theft or vandalism really hurts the average person,” he said.

After meeting with his staff regarding the widespread damage, Horst says he was moved to turn his misfortune into significant customer savings for those who now found themselves in need of a new vehicle.

“As a result of this terrible event, we have decided to sell the vehicles that had their tailgates stolen for up to $15,000 off the dealer listed price.  That’s three zeros—a huge savings for anyone in need of a brand new truck.  We will also replace the tailgates at dealer cost for those interested.”

And to help those in the community affected by loss, or those simply in the market for a new truck, Horst has agreed to extend this significant savings to the rest of his new vehicle inventory until January 31st.

“We will offer up to $15,000 off the dealer listed price on the rest of our new trucks until Thursday January 31st.  This is a great opportunity for anyone who was targeted by this theft ring, or for those who find themselves in need of a new vehicle over the winter months,” says Horst.

To take advantage of  Chevy 21’s “Our Misfortune Is Your Benefit” Savings Event, customers are encouraged to call the dealership at 610-838-2200 or visit www.chevy21.com
