Lucky One-Millionth Visitor (and Family) Awarded “Dolphin Swim for Life”

Cancun, Quintana Roo (April 5, 2013) – Dolphin Discovery, the number one swim with dolphins facility in the country, this week greeted its one-millionth visitor(s), the Sanchez family of Monterrey, MX, to the Isla Mujeres location.  The family of fourteen was awarded lifetime dolphin swims valid at any of Dolphin Discovery’s twelve locations.

Dolphin Discovery Isla Mujeres, located in the southern part of Isla Mujeres, is the largest dolphinarium in Latin America with twelve swim platforms.  The 100% natural environment has been distinguished by excellent guest service and facilities including two pools, a restaurant, bar, boutique and extensively re-modeled Dolphin VIP Lounge.  These first-class services have earned Dolphin Discovery Isla Mujeres the Distinctive H award by the Mexican Secretary of Tourism recognizing the highest standards in food, beverage and hospitality.

Dolphin Discovery Isla Mujeres, which opened twelve years ago, currently receives approximately 500 visitors each day giving them the opportunity to interact with 25 dolphins, three sea lions and two manatees who live under the constant care and supervision of dedicated veterinarians and trainers.

Dolphin Discovery has earned the recognition of international associations, including the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Attractions (AMMPA), by offering unforgettable interactive programs and engaging in important educational and research efforts.  These programs are part of the company’s diligent work to deeply understand the reproductive biology of marine species and their needs at different stages of pregnancy, childbirth and lactation.  Continual study and care has resulted in the Miracle breeding program in place at multiple Dolphin Discovery locations, through which Isla Mujeres has welcomed the birth of nine marine mammals.
