Seeking Nominations for the 21 st Annual Gladstone M. Hill Friend of the Arts Award

July 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Portsmouth, VA - The Portsmouth Museum & Fine Arts Commission seeks nominations for the 21^st annual Gladstone Hill Friend of the Arts Award. The nominee should meet the following criteria:

·       Nominee should have demonstrated commitment to the arts and humanities through advocacy/appreciation, volunteerism, cash and/or in-kind contributions, membership in cultural organizations, purchase of art, attendance at performances and exhibitions in the community.

·       Award will recognize all areas of the arts & humanities including visual arts, performing art, literary works, history and education in these areas.

·       Nominee may not be a current member of the Museum & Fine Arts Commission or on the staff of the Portsmouth Museums.

·       Nomination may consider an individual, family, or organization which collectively meets the criteria. Only one award will be presented to the recipients.

·       Nomination/selection should reflect community orientation of the recipient’s support of the arts and humanities rather than emphasis on one organization or art form.
