Building Housing Capacity for Older Canadians

 
TORONTO - Sept. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- September 18, 2015 | Toronto – The Canadian Institute will be hosting a Canadian Senior’s Housing Forum which will be taking place on November 3-4, 2015 in Toronto.  The event will bring together the public and private sectors to discuss what the future landscape looks like for seniors housing and opportunities that are emerging for developers, builders, architects and designers in this growing market. Throughout the event participants will learn about:

• New trends and innovations in the Canadian senior’s housing market

• What senior’s want and how boomers behave; understanding what motivates them

• Exploring ways in which the public and private sectors can collaborate to address the looming shortage of long-term spaces as well as affordable housing for seniors

• What financial incentives could be considered that would make projects aimed at seniors more attractive for developers

• Increasing collaboration between the public and private sectors to improve the planning process and to build the innovative living solutions needed today and in the years ahead

Speakers include representatives from the Ontario Retirement Communities Association, the Canadian Home Builders’ Association, Nova Scotia Department of Seniors, the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Nova Scotia Home Builders’ Association, Christenson Group of Companies and more.
