Northside ISD Selects Hayes Software Systems to Automate Asset Management

New software system will help the 27th largest district in the country increase accuracy, efficiency, and support future refreshes.

AUSTIN, Texas - April 21, 2016 - PRLog -- Northside Independent School District, the fourth largest school district in Texas and 27th largest in the U.S., has selected Hayes Software Systems' TIPWeb-IT for asset inventory management (http://www.hayessoft.com/products-services/asset-management-solution-tipweb-it). This comprehensive, district-wide solution will be implemented across the K-12 school system's 117 campuses to benefit over 100,000 students and 13,000 staff.

Northside ISD chose the school asset management system to provide district and campus staff the ability to check-out devices to staff for their upcoming 1:1 iPad initiative. The district, located in San Antonio, Texas, recently passed a large bond, and knew they needed a better system and more streamlined processes for tracking assets purchased with those funds. The increased oversight of technology assets also allows NISD to accurately plan and budget for future classroom equipment refreshes and effectively manage the processes surrounding the 1:1 initiative.

The district will utilize Hayes Software Systems' consulting services to manage the impact of the change as Northside focuses on this new way to manage their inventory. The Hayes' services team will assist in increasing user adoption of the asset management software by helping the district document and communicate roles and responsibilities around inventory management. With a focus on staff satisfaction, these services will align the district's culture, values, people, and behavior.

Northside ISD has been using Hayes Software's textbook management system for five years to manage over 1 million instructional materials. The asset management implementation will include strategic system integrations with ERP system Munis, the district's HR and fixed asset system. This will give NISD a system that is specifically designed for building level staff to track assets. The integration will give those at the campus level more access to inventory management in a consistent, trainable way. For those fixed assets managed in TIPWeb-IT, changes to building location or life-cycle status will automatically update the corresponding Munis fixed asset system records, saving time and effort.

"Typically we see districts struggling with traditional inventory management methods to deal with emerging challenges," says Matt Winebright, President of Hayes Software Systems. "It's an honor for us to partner with a progressive district like Northside ISD as they transform the way they manage their assets. We're excited to aid this innovative district as they continue to use technology as a key contributor to instruction."

With the addition of Northside ISD, Hayes Software Systems now provides asset management software and consulting services to the seven largest districts in Texas.
