FREDERICA, Del. - Aug. 10, 2017 - PRLog -- For many of us, we don't predict dental emergencies. They really just happen. One of the worst things is that you're riding a bike, or running, or even walking, you fall flat onto the concrete, and you feel the front tooth break or even fall off. That's when the panic happens. What are you going to do now? Well, you should definitely see your Roseburg dentist, but this article will go over what you should do in each dental emergency. Obviously, the answer to this is seeing your dentist ASAP, but if you can't do that right away, you should definitely try to ease the pain, and you should always be prepared.

The first and one of the most painful emergencies is to break or chip or your tooth. You'll want to call the dentist immediately, and while that's happening, you should rinse your mouth with warm water, and keep the tooth if at all possible. Put it in a baggie. You can try to put it back in, but only do this if you know what you're doing. Bring an ice pack as well in transit to the dentist, because this is going to hurt like no other.

There is also the case that you knocked a tooth loose. If it's loose but didn't get knocked out, but still hurts, the dentist might be able to salvage the tooth. Get some painkillers, put ice on it, and go see the dentist ASAP.

Now, if you lost or broke your crown or filling, the first thing is that you hope you don't swallow. If not, you won't die, but if you did keep it, you should hold onto it. now, the tooth is going to be very sensitive to everything, including the air you breathe in. Use clove oil to soothe this, and get some dental cement from the drug store. You should see the dentist as soon as possible, because it is very likely that you're in pain.

Now, if you have sudden, painful toothaches, this can be a sign of a lot of different issues, but the best thing to do is to rinse out with some warm water, and then try to floss around the tooth in order to get whatever is stuck there out. If it persists, then you should make a trip to the dentist.

Now, if you have something between your teeth, it can become super painful, and even lead to infection. You need to get this out immediately, and if you can, try to get it out with some floss. Sometimes though, this hurts too much, and you should try one of those soft picks, or even a water flosser. If for whatever reason you still can't get it out, call the dentist in order to get some help.

Now, if there is a sudden swelling in the mouth, that could happen for many reasons, but it is possibly very serious. You might have an abscessed tooth, which isn't a joke, and it can spread quickly, and since your mouth is where your brain resides, you're definitely not wanting to mess with this one. There isn't anything you could do except to call the dentist as soon as possible. You can also pull a Cast Away, but only do that if you're stranded on a desert island with nothing else that you could do.

Finally, you might have broken your braces. This happens, and since there are a lot of parts, these tend to break. Go see your orthodontist ASAP, and if it's a wire, get it to where it's not poking you, and if you can't, get some orthodontic wax. If it's a band, try to salvage it and set the appointment.

Now, all of these you can give yourself temporary relief, but that doesn't replace the need to see a dentist. Go to your Roseburg dentist as soon as possible, and you should be able to get the best health that you possibly can have from them. They're no joke, but if you take care of them immediately, you'll be able to salvage the health of the tooth hopefully before it's too late and the tooth is beyond repair.
