Heterotaxy Connection Announces Family Conference Events Schedule

DRAPER, Utah - July 8, 2019 - PRLog -- Heterotaxy Connection, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and empowering families affected by heterotaxy syndrome, is pleased to announce the 2019 Family Conference schedule. Events include a combination of talks by expert speakers, panels, workshops, and breakout sessions.

"We are so happy to announce that our conference schedule of events has been finalized," said Necia Munro, President and Co-Founder of Heterotaxy Connection. "We have been working hard on creating a variety of events and talks that will meet the needs of our heterotaxy community. Our expert medical professionals will address cutting edge topics relevant to our community while our workshops and panels will be a special opportunity to connect with other heterotaxy families who have a wealth of information to share based on their personal experiences."

Workshops for the 2019 Family Conference include "Coping Scripts," "Building a Legacy," "Caring for Siblings," and "Second Opinions." Workshops will be held on the first full day of the conference, Friday, July 26th. Two breakout sessions are scheduled for Saturday, July 27th. These sessions are titled "Making the Hospital a Home" and "Mental Health." Panels are scheduled for the afternoon of Friday, July 27th and the morning of Saturday, July 28th. Panels will include talks on "Living with No Regrets" and "Living with Heterotaxy." The conference will also host a "Time of Remembrance" to honor the many heterotaxy heroes who have passed away. The detailed schedule can be found on the organization's website: https://www.heterotaxyconnection.org/hc-conference

"Besides the scheduled events, there will be plenty of other opportunities for heterotaxy families to connect with one another," said Munro. "There will be a welcome reception, a scheduled movie night, and activities for children."

The theme for the 2019 Family Conference is Building Bridges to symbolize the importance of relationships and connections formed while walking the path of heterotaxy.

"We are so eager for this year's conference, because our organization has grown immensely since we were founded in 2014," said Munro. "As we have developed, our ability to support our families has expanded. Most of our families communicate regularly in our online support group, but we rarely have opportunities to talk in person. There is something so meaningful about being able to share your story with another person living their own heterotaxy journey. The 2019 Family Conference is truly a priceless opportunity that we are extremely grateful to offer our families."
