Marietta Square's Pie Bar to Celebrate 1 Year Anniversary

MARIETTA, Ga. - Aug. 1, 2021 - PRLog -- In January 2020, Cody and Lauren Bolden fell in love with a historic building located at the end of Powder Springs Street in the Marietta Square. It has two large windows for plenty of sunlight, the interior walls are original brick, and the back of the building faces the Mountain to River Trail.

Cody and Lauren Bolden opened their first pie shop, Pie Bar, in Downtown Woodstock in September 2015. At twenty-five years old, they both agreed it was the perfect time to quit their "normal jobs" and pursue their dream of owning a small business.

After touring 60 Powder Springs Street in the Marietta Square, Cody and Lauren knew this would be the perfect location for their second pie shop. Despite the pandemic, the couple pushed on with construction with hopes of serving pie to the Marietta community in the Summer of 2020.

After six months of construction and with many of the finishes, including the large bar where guests can enjoy a slice of pie, completed by Pie Bar Co-Owner, Cody, Pie Bar Marietta opened on August 12, 2020.

Over the past year, the Pie Bar team has become an active part of the Marietta community. Pie Bar has installed a Little Free Pie-brary, where guests or walkers can "take-a-book, leave-a-book" at their leisure. Co-Owner, Lauren, has worked with the William Root House to create a fun and educational pie baking video for Root House TV, and Pie Bar Marietta has joined as a member of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce.

August 12, 2021, will be Pie Bar Marietta's 1st Anniversary, and to celebrate a year of pie in the Marietta Square, Pie Bar is holding a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place in front of Pie Bar Marietta at 11:00 am on August 12, 2021. There will be a reception that follows that includes complimentary Pie Bar Itty Bitties (bite-sized pies) and drip Coffee. Alma Coffee will be on-site from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm serving a limited Sweet Apple Pie Latte, created to celebrate Pie Bar Marietta's 1st Birthday.

Pie Bar serves eight flavors of Sweet Pie daily alongside locally roasted coffee and espresso. Sweet Pies are available by the slice and whole pie. Savory Pies are available as a take-and-bake option. Pie Bar has two locations ready to serve you pie: Pie Bar Woodstock and Pie Bar Marietta. Pie Bar is open 7 days a week.
