CHICAGO - Jan. 31, 2024 - PRLog -- Citing the need to clear space for new graves & crypts, Queen of Heaven Cemetery along with the Archdiocese of Chicago have announced the "temporary" removal of one of the iconic holy shrines, the Jesus shrine referred to as the Cross, and the complete demolition/desecration of the Blessed Mother Shrine. Both are places of apparitions, prayers and healings.  A public outcry is imminent as tens of thousands of worshipers face the possible desecration of these two symbols of hope.

"For more than 32 years, people from all over the world have come to visit these two gifts of God the Father" said Tim Trojanek, a devout Catholic who is an advocate for the preservation of the shrines. "Being in the presence of ) and the Blessed Mother(Grotto) changes people. Thousands of worshipers have testified about mystical experiences they felt while visiting the shrines. They find it to be a place for prayerful reflection, a place of solace, and a place of peace."

"I have watched people healed before my very eyes, rosaries turning gold, apparitions/sun signs, and other graces being poured out from heaven. Something holy is going on there."

Trojanek and his contingency believe the cemetery has been using the shrines as marketing tools for years.

"Now that the shrines have outlived their usefulness, the cemetery is committed to destroying them," he said. "We have recently received threats that the site will be demolished without warning. If they demolish it, the mystical aspect of it will be completely lost."

"Once they temporarily relocate the Jesus shrine, it is doubtful that it will ever be moved back."

Trojanek acknowledges that challenging the Catholic church about the removal of the shrines is a daunting task.

"We know we can't win a war with the Catholic church, but we are firm in our resolve to preserve the shrines," he said." The church sees this as a business issue. We see the shrines as holy beacons in this challenging world."

"We are obedient Catholics, but we're not giving up. "We are committed to peaceful perseverance."

Trojanek believes the shrines could be preserved even if new crypts and graves were placed nearby.

"It's a small area," he said. 'What is already there can be fixed after 32 years of very minimal maintenance by the cemetery and the Archdiocese. They could lay new pavement and blacktop and put the graves around the shrines. The number of graves they would lose would be minimal. We would continue to maintain the site for them as we have over the years and today."

Trojanek said the shrines were initially to be removed in June 2023. That date has changed 5 times. We believe this is due to our prayers to Jesus and the Blessed Mother. The last hard date we were given was December 26, 2023. We have now been told sometime after January 1st. They would not commit to a hard date."

"They have changed their story about removing the shrines multiple times. Since they are the Archdiocese of Chicago, they don't feel the need to answer to anyone."

"The worldwide uproar will be huge if they remove these holy symbols. There are people out there who will go crazy over it. The cemetery and the Archdiocese are already blaming us for the threats they have been receiving."

We are planning a rosary and prayers on February 11th on the Feast of our Lady of Lourdes from 12:00 p.m.  to 1:00 p.m. - CST at the shrines. We will be offering our rosary/prayers for divine intercession to save these most beautiful and sacred/holy shrines. If you cannot attend, please say a rosary during the day for the Blessed Mother's intention to save her and her son's shrine.
