Maria Peterson Pushes Reproductive Rights; Endorsed by Personal PAC and Planned Parenthood

BARRINGTON, Ill. - Feb. 6, 2024 - PRLog -- Maria Peterson, Candidate for State Representative in Illinois 52nd District, has been endorsed by both Personal PAC, a nonpartisan political action committee dedicated to protecting and advancing reproductive rights for all women by recruiting, electing, and holding accountable pro-choice candidates to state and local office in Illinois, and by Planned Parenthood Illinois Action, the political arm of Planned Parenthood in Illinois which is committed to fighting for a more equitable future, again this election cycle. Peterson was endorsed by both organizations in her previous run for State Senate.

"One of the top reasons I ran for State Senate last cycle and that am running for State Representative this cycle is my 100% support for reproductive rights. We need to make sure that support for women stays strong in Springfield. I am grateful to have these important endorsements,"  said Peterson.

The 52nd District, which overwhelmingly supports reproductive rights, is currently represented by a State Representative with a 100% rating with Illinois Right to Life and a voting record to match.

"Reproductive rights is a slippery slope and we cannot let the extremists continue to exert their efforts to chip away at our rights," Peterson added. "We need to keep Illinois safe for us and for neighbors who now need to travel here for health care that all women should be able to get wherever they live."

"I stand with what I said this past June. Our district has made it abundantly clear that the right to make personal medical decisions is a matter of privacy that should not be determined by elected officials. We must have representation that reflects and upholds this belief," emphasized Peterson.

Personal PAC's Sarah Garza Resnick will headline a fundraiser for Maria Peterson along with co-hosts Hon. Kam Buckner, Hon. Margaret Croke, Hon Tracy Katz Muhl, Hon. Lindsey LaPointe and Hon. Aaron Ortiz on Wednesday, February 28th at 5:30 pm at the Hubbard Inn, 110 W. Hubbard in Chicago.
