ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Feb. 8, 2024 - PRLog -- NEW TRIPOLI, PA… China's Naura retained the #9 position in the global semiconductor wafer front end equipment market in 2023 despite U.S. sanctions, according to the report entitled "Global Semiconductor Equipment: Markets, Market Shares and Market Forecasts." recently published by The Information Network, (www.theinformationnet.com) a New Tripoli, PA-based market research company.

"In 2023, Naura maintained its #9 position as the company grew revenues 41.8% year-over-year as Chinese sanctions continue to fail," reported Dr. Robert Castellano, President of The Information Network. "Naura credits its success to achieving technological milestones and ramping up the production of a wide array of semiconductor equipment, including etching, deposition, cleaning, and furnace equipment."

ASML overtook Applied Materials as the top WFE (wafer front end) Semiconductor Equipment supplier in 2023, added Dr. Castellano. Japan's Tokyo Electron (TEL) was in 3rd place after revenues dropped 34.6% YoY. The reason for Lam's revenue drop in 4th place is its high exposure to memory chips with Micron and SK hynix among its main customers.

Japanese companies Hitachi High-Tech, Screen, and Kokusai were also negatively impacted by the strong US dollar in 2H 2023 which reduced revenues (in U.S. dollars) by 2% in Q4 2023.
