Chefji & Chefniji Cookery Contest Winners Announced Sanjay And Livbov Rajani Win The Contest

Dec. 10, 2007 - PRLog -- The Chefji & Chefniji Cookery Contest 2007, sponsored by Kolte Patil Group and The Yellow Chilli, was held near NIBM at the site of Hills & Dales, a grand residential project on Saturday Dec 8, where renowned Chef Sanjeev Kapoor was the Chief Guest and final judge.

It was a race against the clock as 14 teams of skilled couples conjured up delicacies from a mystery box of ingredients and home made spices that were not revealed until the end of the completion. The mouth watering fare, prepared by enthusiastic participants who had qualified for the grand finale, was judged by celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor.

A chance to show off their version of healthy food to the Master who is pioneering healthy food, including “No Oil Cooking” prompted an overwhelming response from Punekar’s. For the contestants, there was an equal measure of tension as excitement, while for the spectators; the chemistry between the couples was as much a treat as a chance to sample their culinary skills.

“A healthy mind stays in healthy body and healthy body comes from nutritious food.” This proverb was made true by Sanjay and Livbov Rajani whose creation of chicken cream sauce, sun dried tomatoes with mushroom pillac, stuffed chicken leg with garlic mash  was adjudged the Best Recipe by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor and earned them the First Prize of cash reward from Kolte Patil Developers Limited and a Home Theatre from Sony.

Second Prize

Renu Punjabi won the second prize of a Hob and Chimney from Faber for her sea food sizzlers

Third Prize

Alka Chawla received third prize of a Microwave Oven from Faber for her creamy paneer

All the leading participants received their awards and certificates by the hands of Mr. Sanjeev Kapoor & Mrs. Sunita Kolte.  


The preliminary rounds were judged by a panel comprising eminent Chefs from the leading five star hotels of the city including Taj Blue Diamond, Sun & Sand, Central Park and Mainland China etc. All the winners of the preliminary round were given away prizes from Sony World and Pune Central. “I judged the participants on taste, recipe, ingredients, sanitation and most importantly, coordination between the couples”, said Prashant Admane, Executive Chef of Sun & Sand Hotel.
