Sescil - In Sync With Seniors And Their Finance / Investment Needs

You have read the headlines and heard the news on the Subprime Crisis. How can seniors on fixed incomes understand and survive in these times? SESCIL hosts a monthly Finance / Investment discussion group aimed at such issues relevant to seniors.

March 2, 2008 - PRLog -- Moderated by a retired executive who is a Certified Senior Advisor, the discussion group meets on the next to last Tuesday of each month. “We are a small group of seniors meeting to discuss issues in an effort to understand how investment decisions can be influenced by current events”, explains the moderator. The group is open to all especially those seeking an interesting exchange of knowledge, experiences, information and ideas in an informal setting.

The moderator continues: “It’s tax season, so we’ll be concentrating on understanding  the different 1099 forms we are all beginning to receive as well as the Alternative Minimum Tax and how it might affect seniors.”  No financial advice is given; rather, the exchange of information during discussions constitutes the group’s focus. Each weeks discussion notes, supplemented by internet research, are posted on the SESCIL website and available to anyone with access to the internet. Group participants run the gamut from novices and those with limited experience who may wish to protect and conserve their savings to more sophisticated investors who are more experienced and/or interested in exploring the great variety of investment vehicles available.

Seniors, 55 and over, can benefit from SESCIL’s myriad programs and services by simply joining the Center, free of charge: all they need to do is to call 201-569-4080. There is no charge for any classes held at the Center. For more information on any or all of SESCIL’s comprehensive programs and services, you may visit its Website at www.sescil.org. Once there, go ahead and explore its many interesting features on senior-related issues, such as regular exercises and activities especially designed with seniors in mind.
