Follow on Google News | FLAME signs MoU with Jiangsu University, ChinaAuthorities from Imperial College of London to visit the FLAME campus in May- -Oxford University to welcome FLAME students
By: Reach Out The major benefits of signing the MOU with Jiangsu University are:- · The exchange of students from all the three schools of FLAME and the students from Jiangsu University. · The exchange of faculties in relevant departments. · Cultural exchange, with faculties to teach Indian and Chinese dances. · Academic Exchange, with a faculty who could teach Mandarin to FLAME students going on exchange. On this occasion, Dr. Indira Parikh, President FLAME and Former Dean at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad said, “Jiangsu University being more than hundred years old has rich tapestry of culture and programs and FLAME would indeed derive the benefit of this aspect and thus both the Institutions will benefit from each other in many ways.” A Delegation comprising of Mr. Tam Yukun, The Director, Mr. Zhang Xue Guang, The President and Mr. Miao Jing Cheng - The Dean from Soochow University visited the campus on 13th April and expressed their happiness and satisfaction over the facilities, infrastructure and the contents and methods of the liberal educational courses. They have agreed to sign the MOU for various activities. FLAME is working out the details of the collaboration. Discussions with famous UK Universities by Dr. YSP Thorat, Dean, International Affairs (Former Chairman, NABARD) have lead to much significant collaboration in various fields in the near future. Six professors from different universities in UK have agreed to come and teach at the campus in the next academic year. Also Universities like Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, Brunel Business School and SOAS (School of Oriental & African Studies) have shown keen interest in developing a corporate strategy and modules for collaboration. Dr. David Gellner of Oxford (Institute of Social & Cultural Anthropology) Dr. Harris white of the Oxford University has agreed that in regard to research projects involving India (short thesis or field work in X’mas or Easter vacation) Oxford would welcome one or two of FLAME students every year. Oxford has also indicated that as part of their ‘Fellow Program’ at the Queen Elizabeth House, a couple of FLAME students could attend lecture classes & get on with their research. Imperial College, London which has a high standing in British academia would be coming for a due diligence in the first week of May, 2008 to the campus in Pune. Other universities which are going to complete their due diligence & enter into MOUs with FLAME before the end of this winter include Plymouth and Brunel. According to Dr. YSP Thorat, "In the contextual space increasingly being occupied by India, it is to the advantage of Foreign Universities to collaborate with us". Hence, students from both the nations can explore and learn the different managerial practices followed and also conduct useful researches while experiencing the varied cultures.
