The Quality Council Of India, An Autonomous Body Set Up By The Government Of India

July 15, 2008 - PRLog -- The Quality Council of India (QCI), which is an autonomous body set up by the Government of India and the Indian Industry has developed the certification standard for quality school governance. The organization has launched a nationwide programme to assist schools to implement the accreditation standard for quality school governance.

The one-day awareness programme with the support of National Board for quality Promotion (NBQP) was held in Pune on 9th of July, at Le Meridien.

This accreditation standard aims at providing a framework for the effective management and delivery of the holistic education program for overall development of students. The standard focuses on establishing systems to enable learning, self-development and improved performance of schools.

In addition, it encourages schools to pursue continual excellence. The standard is non-prespective but its compliance is in conjunction with the applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

The main objective of the workshop was as under:-

·   Understand the requirements of accreditation standard for quality school governance
·   Understand the accreditation process
·   Develop n implementation plan

Present during the workshop was Mr. Girdhar J. Gyani, Secretary General, Quality Council of India and Dr. K. B. Kushal, Chairman Education Services Committee.

What is accreditation?
Accreditation is a process of establishing competence of a school in delivering the requisites elements of education covering curriculum, faculty, administration, student services etc. It focuses on learning self-development and encourages the school tp pursue continual excellence.

Accreditation is awarded after carrying out structured assessment of compliance to the accretions standards.

Accreditation helps to ensure that educational and support process have synergy to provide for holistic development of students.
