Sept. 5, 2008 - PRLog -- Does it seem that the generation gap is growing between older folks and young children?  If so, one on the best ways to bring them together is through song, says national award-winning Children’s Artist DARIA who releases a new album of songs perfect for bringing the generations together.  The cd – GRANDCHILDREN’S DELIGHT contains fresh musical arrangements of best-loved songs that both young kids and their grandparents recognize, adore and can have fun with.  Her popular children’s website also contains lots of music-making activities that are perfect for kids, seniors and families showing different ways to bring the whole family together through music.  To celebrate grandparents, Daria is giving away a free download of “This Little Light of Mine” because it is one of the most-requested songs from her live shows.  The free download is located at http://www.songsforteaching.com/freedownload/daria/.

Daria has recorded and released four children’s music CD’s – each one with national awards for their contribution to children’s and multi-cultural music. Performing on guitar, dulcimer, washboard, spoons and Native drums, Daria’s live show incorporates the type of homegrown music that has been shared and loved by families for decades. DARIA also hosts a popular children’s music website that includes songs, activities, musical jokes, build-an-instrument and hear-an-instrument sections located at www.dariamusic.com.

In 2007, Daria received a Pennsylvania Council On The Arts Arts Commentary Award and a Citation from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania  “Commending an Exemplary Record of Service in the Field of Education”.  With a passionate interest in music and community-building, Daria holds a degree in ethnomusicology and is active in Native American, Peace and Children’s and Special Education issues. She lives with her family on a small farm outside of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (United States).
