On Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 4:00 PM the original play
THE PRODIGAL Written and Directed by Don Durant will be
presented to benefit The Winter Committee of Women's Day at Glover Memorial Baptist Church 2134 Dean Street - Brooklyn, New York.
Rev. Louis Williams, is the presiding pastor of Glover Memorial Baptist Church.


This play is a modern day Version of the Prodigal Son
A Young man leaves his home in Ohio, heading for New York
seeking fame and fortune.  He falls on hard times, brought on
by his own negligence.  Failing to stand by his lessons taught
at home, he is brought down, and made whole through faith and
prayer.

The Play stars Award Winning Actor KEVIN BYRD

Kevin has Film and television credits which include: Law and Order, Guiding Light, City Games, Nicole's Choice, and regional versions of Good Bye Girl, Wonderful Wizard of Was, Chorus Line, Scrooge, and Westside Story. Reeboks Commercial, as well as appearing in ”Caught Up" at the Faith Baptist Playhouse, in Long Island.  Kevin is the proud founder and promoter of a national campaign on Prostate Awareness, visiting schools, prisons, and community organizations across the country.  Kevin Byrd starred as  Congressional Gold Medal Honoree Lt.John R. Fox  from the Hit NAMIC VISION AWARD Nominated T.V.  Special "Honor Deferred" from the History Channel produced by Al Roker, Samuel L. Jackson and Hosted By Bernie Mac.  He has also starred in his own Off Broadway One Man Show "Release" and was featured on the Cover Model for Best Seller Book "Things IN Between" by Nathanial Portis.

Also Guest Starring: JAUNICE PRYCE, An actress in many of the plays presented   by Don Durant. She is a Deaconess, and a Director. Directing "Over The Hill" and most recently a one woman show as: Sister Cantaloupe the character developed by Trina Jeffrie. She is involved in the Reading Recognition Program, and heads up the Day Care Ministry.  VICKIE CARSON-CLEMONS is a Christian and a member of the St. John Baptist Church in Rockaway Beach, NY.  

She serves as Assistant Church Clerk and is an active member of many other ministries. Vickie comes with much experience working in theater with Don Durant and others: "You're Just Like Family" "Coming home to Papa" "Caught Up", and Another One Gone", written by Rev. Spurgeon Crayton. WILLIE "DOC" STOREY, Doc, as he is known a native New Yorker, is a graduate of Barbizon School, in Washington, DC, where he completed a course in modeling.  He was raised in the church, and developed his singing and acting talents at an early age. His credits include working in "Another One Gone", "The Erudite" both by Spurgeon Crayton, "Coming Home to Papa" and working with Mr. Leon Pinckney (Starring in the movie Car Wash).  He believes that in God and through God all things are possible.


ANDREA HAYGOOD, an  enthusiastic actress, encouraged by the development of a character from the page to the stage. This is her first time working with Mr. Durant, but she has appeared as an orphan in a version of Annie, and lead singer in Michelle.  Andrea, Dre as she is known, will be looked for in future productions after The Prodigal.
