By: Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce Minority Enterprise Development Week (MED Week) Offers a venue for minority-owned firms to access information, tools, and resources to grow their businesses both domestically and internationally through networking events, workshops, and issue forums. The events that compose MED Week are meant to raise awareness among minority business owners, and the larger business community and support these businesses in their efforts to grow to scale. The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. was founded in 2010 and is N.Y.'s State's Largest African American Chamber, and was named the Metro N.Y. District of the U.S. SBA 2019 Small Business Champion for 14 counties in Downstate, N.Y. We are requesting all participants to register in advance for the 1st day to get all updates for MED Week 2024; as we anticipate increased participation as the event has gained momentum in N.Y., State. A theme of MED Week each year is that Minority entrepreneurs can benefit from increased commitment of the federal and state governments to award contracts to them, but only if they first have a strong, well-organized operation, officials said at last year's conference.
