New Scholarship Available To All U.S. Students

Oct. 20, 2008 - PRLog -- Securing money for college in the form of scholarships, grants, and student loans has always been the main goal of many students in the United States, but in light of the current economic crisis, getting these funds is a bigger challenge than ever. Many of the funds that are normally allocated for these purposes have diminished or disappeared altogether and students are beginning to feel the crunch. Due to this harsh reality, computer furniture manufacturer, Versa Tables, stepped up to the plate and started a new scholarship fund that is open to all students currently attending school in the United States.
“We do business with educational facilities across the country, from kindergarten to grad school and we found out there was a need for more available scholarship money, so we immediately took action”, said Chris Stormer, Chief Operations Officer at Versa Tables. “Students were having a difficult time finding money for school because the funds simply didn’t exist anymore or the scholarship qualifications were so narrow that many students were not even eligible to apply. We decided to make it as easy as possible…as long as you are a student currently attending school in the United States, you are eligible to apply and win money for school. It doesn’t matter what grade level you are or what type of school you attend, every student is welcomed.”

The essay contest is to write, in 500 words or less, what you are doing, have done, or are planning on doing to make a positive difference in the world. “Making a positive difference can be anything from recycling your soda cans to volunteering at a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving”, mentioned Stormer. “We don’t want any student to feel left out of this contest because they don’t think that the simple things they do in the community are not important enough to write a short essay about. Every little effort has big effects in our world and that is what we want these essays to reflect.”
The Versa Tables Scholarship Fund is currently online and they are encouraging students to send in their applications now. This contest will run until January 15th, 2009 and then another scholarship contest will be launched in the Spring with a different theme.
