Oliver Maldonado Makes Filmmaking History being 1st Movie Ever Made 100% Online Using Craigslist.org

Nov. 18, 2008 - PRLog -- Oliver Maldonado has made filmmaking history by being the first ever movie producer to complete a feature film 100% made online. Oliver Maldonado is a new filmmaker who recently wrote, directed, produced and starred in his new feature film, "Green Mountain falls".

Oliver was able to find everything he needed online using craigslist.org. He found his actors, production company, promotion company, marketing, endorsers, everything! As if that wasn't enough, he also found Colorado's #1 Morning Show, Alice 105.9's Morning Show to not only promote the movie but to also be in it.

"I wanted to not only make a movie, but to brake a record of some sort. I know this was my first movie, so the chances of it breaking box office records was slim. I know I'm joking about that, but I really did want to brake a record. I started out trying to brake the cost of prosucing an independent movie. I wanted to make a movie for less than $1,000! And I mean a real independent film with a Mansion Scene, Great Scenery, Restaurants, Business Office, Actors & Actresses, Extras, Real Music Bands, Advertising, everything! That's what I started off doing." Said Oliver Maldonado when asked why he wanted to break a filmmaking record.

Although he fell short of achieving that goal, in the end he spent almost $20,000. trying to complete his movie. That's not including the financial amount he lost in revenue from his business while he was filming the movie.

In the end, he ended up making independant filmmaking history by being the first ever independent movie to be completed using 100% online resources. What makes the story even more wild is that he used a free online service to do that with www.Craigslist.org.

Oliver Maldonado made his movie using a Panasonic DVX100b, Mac G5, Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio, which he found all on craigs list. The movie was filmed using 3 cameras and a boom mic and was edited using a Macbook Pro and his Mac G5.

Oliver Said, "It's funny, I never knew you could find everything you needed online, especially not from craigslist and I do mean everything. I found all the people in the movie, all the production and filming gear, all of the editing & production gear and people, graphic designer, everything!
I hope that this inspires independant filmmakers to go out there and make a movie. I've never made a movie before, I've never been to film school. I didn't even know what I was doing, but I knew I wanted to make a movie and I went out and did it!"
