Guide to Accessing Free Public Records!

Dec. 2, 2008 - PRLog -- Public records are meant to be records that the public can access freely.  They are stored at various government offices, including law enforcement agencies, courthouses and other government agencies.  They can also be accessed online.  There are several places where you can access these records from.  

When you make the decision to use the government agencies to perform your free public records searches, you must first give a written request and submit it at the office.  This request will be reviewed and it may take several days for the permission to be granted.  You may have to remind them once again in a few days.  Requests usually take time to be approved, because the government offices go according to priority and take care of the urgent requests first.    There may also be certain records that are not given access to, which involve minors and also cases that are currently happening.

You can alternately use the search engines for performing free public records searches, like Yahoo and Google by typing in the person’s name or address and search with that.  The results will come back in hundreds, but it has been seen that the information you can get your hands on may be limited.  This is because not many people leave all their personal information online.  Even if they do enter it somewhere in a profile, it is only limited information.  The search engines have the capacity to bring back only information that has been left by the person somewhere on the World Wide Web.
