Dec. 3, 2008 - PRLog -- Gaithersburg, MD – MicroServe Consulting, Inc. (www.msconsulting.com ), formerly of Germantown, MD, has moved their headquarters and data center to significantly larger space in Gaithersburg, MD.  The new location will allow MicroServe Consulting to host larger data environments for more customers in their larger data center.  The new facility is also equipped with actual workspace for companies to send employees when unfortunate events – fire, flood, or even a leaky roof, for example – force their offices to close and valuable work time and money to be lost.

“These services are designed to fill a need that is not currently being met for the numerous businesses along the I-270 corridor,” explains Kerry Albert, VP of Technical Services for MicroServe Consulting.  “Most companies do not think about the possibility of their business needing to close down for days or longer in an emergency until that emergency happens, and then they’re stuck.  By simply planning for the “what if” in advance, they have the assurance that we’ll have a place for them to work should they ever need it.”

New space provides even greater security

In addition to the expanded physical space, the new headquarters also provides advanced electric capabilities, greater redundancy and network security, enhanced cooling, additional bandwidth and capacity, and has a higher power generator with an automatic transfer switch.

“When we lose power, the generator will automatically start to provide power for our data center,” Albert continues.  “Most times customers won’t even know we had a problem.”  MicroServe is now better equipped for an internet outage as well.  “With our internet lines, we are working with multiple providers, so if we lose connection on one line, there will be a seamless connection to another line and our customers will keep working as if nothing happened,” says Albert.

Many current customers have benefited from MicroServe’s Managed Security Service since it was first offered over five years ago.  In that time, not one customer server has been hacked into and virus infections have been almost non-existent.  MicroServe’s enhanced measures of security will ensure that this success continues and allow more companies to take advantage of the service.
