Company’s plea to put Santa in the Directory

Dec. 10, 2008 - PRLog -- With Christmas coming, and children worldwide starting to think about writing their letter to Santa, addressing software firm Postcode Anywhere have made a nifty tool to tell kids where to address their letter.

There’s only one problem: Santa has a different address in every country – and it’s not in the phone book.

Head of Marketing Rachael Mackwell said: “Addresses are our business at Postcode Anywhere – we manage address data across the globe.   People use our technology to look up international addresses so they can fill out address forms quickly and easily when buying online.

“But we realised we’d forgotten one vital address off our list – Father Christmas’s.  Everyone knows he lives at the North Pole, but not everyone knows there are lots of different sorting offices around the world, all set up to deal with the huge piles of mail he receives every year.

“He also travels under many different international names, from Julenissen (or “Christmas Gnome”) in Norway to Sion Corn (“Chimney John”) in Wales.

“For such a popular and iconic man, he’s very difficult to track down.

“We’d like to make an appeal to post offices across the globe to give us Santa’s address in their country so we can help children worldwide write their letters to Santa.

“We’ve had a fantastic response from many countries from New Zealand to Hong Kong and we know other postal services worldwide can do just as good a job.”
