Celebrating Christmas With A Cause

Dec. 23, 2008 - PRLog -- Oakwood Residence, a part of the elite Oakwood Worldwide group the property that provides a new upscale option for long stay International travelers in Pune, celebrated Christmas with a difference. This time however, instead of catering to travelers Oakwood catered to the children of Prayatna, an NGO by celebrating Christmas with them.

Prayatna is a decade old organization which works for the upkeep, rehabilitation and education of the differently abled children between the age groups of 10 to 15 years and 25 to 30 years. Spearheaded by Radiya Gandhi, the team of Prayatna was extremely happy and thrilled at this lovely gesture by the Management and Staff of Oakwood.

“Our children had a whale of a time and a lovely Xmas with Santa and the staff of Oakwood.  The entire senior team of Oakwood spent quality time with our children and played games and shared gifts with them.  I think this was the best Xmas gift and celebrations we could get.” said Radiya Gandhi

The senior management and the staff of Oakwood Residence spent quality time with 20 children celebrating Christmas. The children were made to play various games and other activities like singing carols and story telling by Santa Claus. In addition, Santa also distributed gifts and sweets amongst the children.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vikas Kapai, GM Oakwood Residence Pune, said, “It gives us a great sense of satisfaction to bring a smile on each child here and to have celebrated Christmas with them and we’ll continue to do so with every little contribution that is possible from our end. This has indeed been a great experience for all of us to be a part of this noble cause”.
