February  2009 – Mt. Kisco, NY – “Green Parties” are the newest trend in recession partying.  Neighbors in Scarsdale, and other towns throughout the County, are getting together to have a good time, but with a new twist – to learn how to reduce their carbon foot print without having to give up their SUVs and turn down the thermostat.

According to the, the US Dept of Energy’s Energy Information Administration the average family spent an estimated $2,350 on energy at home and about $3,950 on gas for cars or trucks: a total of $6,300 for each household for the full year in 2008.  And that is the national average, many households will spend much more.

Green Tree Energy, one of Westchester’s largest energy solutions companies will be on hand to show the revelers just how simple it can be to reduce their utility bills up to 40% -- while also making a significant impact on the environment.  “It all starts with awareness and the home energy audit,” says Frank Treglia, Executive Director of Green Tree Energy.  “As with most situations, knowledge is power – the average home in the Northeast has air leaks that are equivalent to leaving a six-foot door wide open.”
