50% Discount on Tax Preparation for Unemployed Workers offered by Peoples Income Tax

Feb. 9, 2009 - PRLog -- Effective immediately, Peoples Income Tax of Richmond, VA will offer a 50% discount on tax preparation fees to former employees of participating companies who were laid off during the past six months due to the economic recession.  This special 50% Unemployment Discount is being offered through Peoples’ Group Tax Program, which normally provides a 20% discount.  The Unemployment Discount may not be combined with any other discount offer, and is available to former employees who receive the special Group Tax discount certificate (provided by Peoples) from their former employers.
The Unemployment Discount will be available at all Peoples Income Tax locations through April 15, 2009.  "It’s just one small way we can help local employees who have lost their jobs due to the economic recession," said Chuck McCabe, President and CEO.
To qualify for this special discount, the client must present, at the time of service, the Unemployment Discount certificate received from his or her former employer that has agreed to participate in this Peoples Group Tax Discount Program.  Any taxpayer who was laid off during the past 6 months and has not received a discount coupon should ask the ex-employer to contact Peoples Tax at (804) 204-1040 to obtain coupons for distribution to their former employees.  Companies wishing to participate may also submit a request online through the following link.  http://www.peoplestax.com/cms/index.php?section=65
