Budget Savvy “Storagistas” Are Singled Out in Manhattan Mini Storage’s Newest Campaign

The phrases “Storagista” and “Storkage” haven’t made it into Webster’s Dictionary yet, but Manhattan Mini Storage bets these terms will become part of the New York City lexicon in 2009.

Feb. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- In keeping with Manhattan Mini Storage’s tradition of tapping current events for campaigns, Manhattan Mini Storage’s newest advertising shines a laser on the city’s economic woes and finds something to make us smile.

With New York City’s exceptionally high cost of living and sluggish economy, Manhattanites are now finding themselves multi-purposing their homes in new ways to economize on rent. Sometimes this means storing the dining room table and replacing it with a crib rather than trading up to a two-bedroom. Other savvy New Yorkers are storing the seasonal clothing and items to make room for a home office.  But what to call this new phenomenon sweeping over budget savvy New Yorkers?

Here are a few ideas courtesy of Manhattan Mini Storage:

Tom lives completely rent free now that he shares his loft with two cute roommates and his love life has heated up as well. Tom is a Storagenius!

Moving out of that expensive midtown office and converting the closet into a work cubicle was an exceptionally storanomical decision. With less overhead, Zoe’s profits have soared, as have her spirits now that she no longer rides the subway to work.

Claire never saw herself as a studio apartment type of girl, but when her one bedroom rent in Soho went up –again – she downsized. Because she is such a clever storagista, she doesn’t have to move back to Teaneck to live with mom.

The day they brought home the twins, the Brewers knew it was time for some serious storkage of their dining room.  They aren’t sleeping much, but at least they aren’t obligated to invite friends over for dinner either.

Rolled out in January 2009, Manhattan Mini Storage’s new campaign is now appearing on billboards, phone kiosks and bus cards across the city. Created by Manhattan Mini Storage’s in-house advertising team.
