Vickie Milazzo Awarded the 2009 Komen Hope Award for Ambassadorship

March 2, 2009 - PRLog -- The Houston Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® bestowed the 2009 Hope Award for Ambassadorship on founder and president Vickie L. Milazzo, RN, MSN, JD. This prestigious award is presented to businesses, individuals or organizations whose generous support has significantly assisted the Komen Houston Affiliate in their mission to save lives and end breast cancer.

Vickie Milazzo Institute has proudly sponsored the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® since 1998 in honor of Milazzo’s mother who died from breast cancer. The Institute serves as a gold-level sponsor donating more than $30,000.00 every year to help eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease and the leading cause of death among women ages 40-59. The Institute has also donated more than 5,000 copies of Vickie Milazzo’s uplifting Wall Street Journal bestselling book Inside Every Woman: Using the 10 Strengths You Didn’t Know You Had to Get the Career and Life You Want Now, ($21.95 hardcover) to breast cancer survivors via Komen affiliates across the country.
