Visitors planning a trip to Mendocino County in May should have their passports in hand and join us for Hopland Passport Weekend on Saturday May 2nd and Sunday May 3rd, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Experience the wineries of the Hopland Valley as never before, with special wine tastings, food pairings and entertainment, all for a two-day price of $35 per person.

Hopland Passport is a biannual event that showcases small production, boutique wineries in Mendocino County, “Americas Greenest Wine Growing Region.”  Hopland Passport invites participants to explore exceptional wines, speak to and connect with the winemakers and vineyard owners in an intimate setting, and learn more about the history and culture of Hopland and its sustainable, organic, and estate produced wines.  Indulge in the incredible variety of distinct fine wines ranging from Merlot to Dolcetto and Chardonnay to Arneis.  Wineries up and down the Hopland Valley celebrate the magic of their appellation with exclusive barrel samples, limited library selections, local artwork, and a variety of delicious foods.

There are 12 wineries and 3000 acres planted in premium wine grapes producing a variety of estate, sustainable, and organic wines to please any palate.  The Hopland Valley has a long history of winegrowing dating back to the early 1900’s and consists of a third of the vineyards in Mendocino County characterized by a series of small interconnected valleys each possessing a unique personality, where the mornings enjoy cool ocean air and misty fog, and summer days are long and full of intense mid afternoon sun.  Explore undiscovered wines from sustainably farmed fruit that express the natural terroir of the Hopland’s unspoiled land. You will taste wines created from vineyards grown by 2nd and 3rd generation farmers who embrace the tradition and heritage of  farming in our unique region.

Order your tickets in advance online at www.hoplandpassport.com and you are automatically entered in an exclusive drawing.
