SCDM Webinar: Developing leadership skills for data management

The Society for Clinical Data Management’s upcoming webinar, titled Data Manager to Data Leader, will guide CDMs to shift their focus from tasks and metrics to the techniques and strategies required of a leader.

March 12, 2009 - PRLog -- To be successful, clinical data managers must be masters of detail. But advancing to leadership roles demands CDMs harness a different, more abstract, skill set.

The Society for Clinical Data Management’s upcoming webinar, titled Data Manager to Data Leader, will guide CDMs to shift their focus from tasks and metrics to the techniques and strategies required of a leader.

“In order to become a successful leader in data management, our current, technical skill set needs to be augmented,” said Charlene Dark, CCDM, an independent consultant and expert presenter for the webinar. “The CDM must demonstrate proficiency in relationship management with our clients and our colleagues, effective communication skills and a better understanding and appreciation for all functional groups in the clinical trials process.”

The Data Manager to Data Leader webinar is scheduled for 11 a.m. (CDT) Thursday, March 26. Register online by selecting the webinar icon at www.scdm.org.

SCDM is authorized by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) to offer .2 CEUs for this program.
