Limaye is the first Board chair from outside North America. She will officially assume the position on January 1. As chair, Limaye will bring focus to SCDM’s international expansion, of which India is a key market. “I am deeply honored to assume this position and am grateful to the Board and to all my colleagues in SCDM across the globe, for the trust that they have placed in me,” said Limaye. “Our priorities for the coming year include promoting global standards and education in the field of clinical data management, through accreditations and potential partnerships, and recognizing the need to integrate across the entire clinical informatics and pharmacogenomics spectrum within the healthcare industry." New Trustees bring unique perspectives Three new Trustees, elected by the SCDM membership, will join the Board in January. They bring a combined 37 years of experience in clinical research and related industries. Joining the Board are: Jonathan Andrus, CCDM, vice president, data and study operations, BioClinica Andrus is responsible for the design, build and quality control of EDC, IVR and CTMS systems, and has oversight over all clinical data and safety management services. He served on the SCDM Board of Trustees from 2004 to 2009, including a year as chair. Jennifer Duggan, CCDM, manager, clinical data management, St. Jude Medical Duggan’s broad background in clinical data management includes database design, data cleaning, medical coding, CRF design, and implementation of Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) standards, EDC and CTMS solutions. She is currently the co-chair for the SCDM Products & Services Committee. Meredith Nahm, PhD, CCDM, associate director, Duke Center for Health Informatics Nahm led clinical data integration at the Duke Clinical Research Institute until 2007, then joined the Duke Translational Medicine Institute as the associate director of clinical research informatics. She served on the SCDM Board of Trustees from 2001 to 2004. “The three incoming members of the board represent a fine blend of industry leadership across different domains, including the device industry, educational institutions and software solutions, thus bringing in the experience and needs of different players in this field,” said Limaye. “These new members each have a long-term association with SCDM and bring to the Board their rich experience in the clinical data management industry.” Other changes Susan K. Howard, CCDM, associate director, GlaxoSmithKline, will serve as vice chair in 2011 and as chair in 2012. Carol Garvey, CCDM, site head and director, Genetech, was appointed secretary and Gregg Dearhammer, president, i3 Statprobe, will continue to serve as treasurer. Ralph J. Russo, CCDM, 2010 chair and assistant director, global clinical data management, Merck Research Labs, will serve a final year on the Board as past chair. Three Trustees will be departing the Board at the end of 2010. SCDM wishes to thank Linda M.
