Hope Air Systems Seminar On Cost Savings Draws Overflow Crowd Of Compressed Air System Users

April 14, 2009 - PRLog -- Northborough MA  - An over-capacity crowd filled the Training Center at Hope Air Systems today to hear from experts on how to operate air compressors more efficiently during a time when waste and inefficiency are on everyone’s mind.

According to Peter Rhoten, President of Hope Air Systems, the response to the recent one-day training seminar was not surprising to him. Peter Rhoten said, “Every day, as our sales team calls on customers throughout New England, we hear the same request - how can I save money on the rising cost of electricity?”

The seminar was presented by Roy Stuhlman of Kaeser Compressors and Peter Rhoten of Hope Air Systems. With a combined experience over 75 years in the compressed air field, they brought a depth of knowledge unmatched in the industry.

The seminar, which was offered at a fee of $50 per person, was limited to a class size of 50, but according to Cathy Donahue of Hope Air Systems, a total of 53 signed up before she could cut-off subscriptions. “We squeezed a few extras in at the last minute,” she said.

Compressed Air Is Not Free
“Compressed air is not free,” said Peter Rhoten. “But unlike other utilities such as water, oil and gas, if you are smart, you can do something about the cost of compressed air by thinking of it as a system and not just a machine in the mechanical room,” he added.

The seminar focused on how to properly size a system, how to ensure proper quality of air, consistent quantity of pressure and flow, condensate management and how to assess the true costs of compressed air. Customers from as far away as Northern Vermont and Maine attended the all-day session to learn how to reduce operating expenses, improve reliability, reduce production quality problems, improve air quality and to develop monitoring and measuring tools for compressed air systems.

Peter Rhoten said, “We have sold and installed nearly 4,000 air compressors since 1980, from 5 horsepower to 600 horsepower and more, but the real definition of success today in this business is how much energy savings you can bring to the table.”

“In just the past two years we have helped our customers collect over $600,000 in direct rebates from the utility companies, while installing new systems that pay for them selves in two to five years in electricity savings,” said Rhoten. “That’s the true definition of value for today’s industrial air compressor customer,” he added.
