Keystruct Construction, Inc. Receives Preservation Award

May 27, 2009 - PRLog -- York, PA  – Keystruct Construction, Inc. is excited to announce it has been honored with a 2009 Preservation Award given through Historic York’s Preservation Award Program for the 1900 Greenbriar Road project the company completed the end of last year.

The original plans called for Keystruct to demolish an existing two-story home, two-story block apartment building, one-story block apartment building, a garage, trailer and other outbuildings with then the restoration of an existing barn that was all situated on 2.7-acres of land. However, during the demolition of the homes, Keystruct discovered the stone foundation, floor and walls of an approximately 550 square-foot 1780s-era log cabin. The arrangements changed when the owner decided not to knock the log cabin down, but to restore it.

“We feel very honored to receive this award” said Keystruct President Jerry Watson. “Our crew put a lot of hard work into restoring the log cabin and barn.”

Historic York’s Preservation Award Program annually recognizes high quality preservation work throughout the community hoping to call attention to the good work being accomplished by individuals, groups or corporations. The organization anticipates that recognizing these actions may encourage others to maintain the historic and architectural character for the aesthetic, education and recreational benefit for future generations of York County.
