Recording artist Cary Judd released his new CD titled "Goodnight Human" in May on his own label, China Mountain Records, contracting with Artist Airplay Advisors to handle media promotion and release consulting. AAA recommended that the first single, "The Ah-ha Song," be tested for radio and it became one of only two tracks recommended for airplay on formats targeting the 25-49 demographic for the week of June 8, outscoring recordings submitted by major labels for artists including Coldplay, Green Day, Nickelback, The Fray, Depeche Mode, Jason Mraz, O.A.R., Daughtry, and Neko Case! The research was from the highly respected Consolidated Communications Consultants of Portland, Oregon (25-years in business). On June 9th, Cary Judd's video for "The Ah-ha Song" was awarded Best Music Video at the Connecticut Film Festival and Digital Media Conference. The video was produced by John Logan and directed by Andrew Geller for 20/20 Pictures, LLC, a New York City based production company specializing in fresh, energetic, and innovative content on film and High Definition for the narrative, music video, web, and commercial mediums. The award-winning video for Cary Judd's "The Ah-ha Song" is available on YouTube. The final issue of Performing Songwriter magazine, which came out in June, picked Cary Judd's CD in their Top 12, writing that it has "traces of the Cure and Charlatans UK, but Judd puts his own high-energy stamp on the record. This is especially true on the stand-out track "The Ah-ha Song" which features soaring vocal harmonies and electric guitar over a hard-driving bass line." The track was also a "Top Pick" in Radio & Records and at the TripleARadio.com website. As a result of the promotional exposure by AAA, DMX satellite delivery licensed directly with the artist's label to provide the song on their in-store music systems for major retail outlets including J. Crew, Saks Fifth Avenue, Golds Gym, and Hooters. The Express clothing chain further licensed the track for download sales. All this has been accomplished as an Indie release. Cary Judd's "Goodnight Human" CD featuring "The Ah-ha Song" is available for distribution. Two other Artist Airplay Advisor clients with new Indie releases, The Keith Reid Project's CD titled "The Common Thread" (he is the co-writer of Procol Harum's "Whiter Shade of Pale"), and the late Barry Cowsill's "US 1" (he is the Cowsill family member who drowned during the Hurricane Katrina aftermath) were both written about in The Huffington Post during May. The Keith Reid Project features acclaimed vocalists John Waite (Bad English, The Babys), Chris Thompson (Manfred Mann), Southside Johnny (Steve Van Zandt, Bruce Springsteen, Asbury Jukes), Steve Booker (who co-wrote Duffy's recent #1 hit, "Mercy"), Terry Reid (Don Henley, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt), Chaz Jankel (Ian Dury & The Blockheads), Bernie Shanahan (Alice Cooper), and Michael Saxell (Randy Bachman). The project was released on the Indie label Rockville through Ryko Distribution. Barry Cowsill “US 1” includes all the recordings that he had just finished before his untimely death in New Orleans in 2005. While Rolling Stone magazine stated that the “Cowsills helped make flower-power music palatable to the mainstream,” The state of Texas is home to two new clients of Artist Airplay Advisors, Ben Mallott, and Blue Condition, both with Independent CD releases. Ben was chosen as one of the Top 9 to watch in '09 by Austin Monthly. In June, his song "Heartbreaks" Seattle band J-minus released "Mr. Roboton On The Byway" as an Indie CD back in February and contracted with Artist Airplay Advisors to help them with the release. As of the last week of June, the band continued to report new airplay and performance opportunities arising from the AAA affiliation. The J-minus CD is also available for distribution. Coming in August from Artist Airplay Advisors, Noelle Hampton's Indie CD release "Thin Line," for which renowned music critic Ben Fong-Torres says: "It's a near perfect package of words and music, of soul and inspiration." Artist Airplay Advisors is a media promotion and consulting firm that accepts inquiries and submissions from independent recording artists and labels seeking wider exposure for their music.
