Disney Honors Woman Entrepreneur, Sherri Morris’ Creation

It is truly amazing that in spite of the economic depression, Sherri Morris, woman entrepreneur and mother of three who is the company owner and creator of the My Pregnancy Digi Time Capsule, has found a niche to be filled and has not waivered for one moment about starting a company during economic turmoil.  When asked about starting a company at the beginning of t he economic crisis, Morris replied “this just happened to be the time that was right for me. If I chose to wait until conditions were better, perhaps my time would have passed by and my product would have just been an afterthought.  I may have had more financial funding or more retail involvement if economic conditions were better, however, I am willing to work through the road blocks and create my own road.”

When asked what does being recognized by Disney mean to you and your company? Morris replied, “It’s an absolute dream come true.  To be recognized by Disney is like becoming part of the Disney Family and who doesn’t want Mickey Mouse as a brother?  I think it’s just such an honor to sit alongside products that I have bought for my own children such as Baby Einstein, V-Tech, Aquadoodle and Leap Frog, Mega Blocks and Hooked on Phonics.

When asked the issues that face her company during economic times as a start up, Morris replied “companies are really taking a back seat to committing to stock their shelves with new inventory.  This has been my strongest hurdle thus far.  I have taken “No” as “just not right now”.  I believe the more my product proves itself in the market, the more the retailers will change their minds when the time is right for them and I am definitely ok with waiting.”
Morris, mother of 3 young children and woman entrepreneur, is a strong example of the power that women entrepreneurs can have in our economy.  Morris and her company are proof that small companies with big dreams can lead the way to freeing our nation of economic turmoil.
