Initiatives include the acquisition of the popular Little Giant ladder franchise, the launch of several specialist e-commerce web sites, entry into the Builders Merchant market, the launch of three new ladder brands, a next day delivery service, a product development program taking the business into the tower and construction market and partnerships with several overseas manufacturers to facilitate continued range expansion.
David Gray said, “Whilst sales into our traditional sectors such as surveying and construction have slowed, we have seen growing popularity of our more innovative multi function ladders viewed as more productive and environmentally friendly.”

The continuing reputation of the company’s service and products has enabled it to begin the next stage of its growth strategy.  Sales Manager Francis Camilleri added, “To ensure we can successfully support the upcoming initiatives we will be strengthening the sales operation which will enable us to continually acquire market share during the economic downturn.”  

An aggressive roll out of new ladder products in the autumn will work in tandem with having the additional sales resources in place to support the promotional program.  David Gray continued, “Whilst we have gone through a lengthy efficiency improvement program the focus will now return to long term growth.  We are convinced the combination of improved delivery services and more innovative ladder product will retain our competitive advantage.”

TB Davies is considering further investments across the group, Gray said, “The underpinning of our sales operation in Cardiff is the first phase in ensuring we are well placed for expansion.”
