As a service to our members, we try to provide information as close to real-time as possible.” Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada provides updates to travel reports and warnings for the general public on a daily basis and the Canadian Expat Association is now compiling a list of those updates to provide a snapshot of which countries have been updated this week. When a visitor clicks a country of interest on the CEA website they are taken directly to the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada pages for detailed information. “It’s not just travel alerts that we update our members with.” Says Nichols, “When we get information that we think might affect our members even indirectly, we try to get that out to them as well.” From the beginning of this year, the Canadian Expat Association has also been publishing new diplomatic postings as soon as they are announced by DFAIT.
