Sept. 17, 2009 - PRLog -- PETRA the name itself in greek means "rock" – is nowadays remains the Nabataeans city, on the west-south Jordan.  Located in a rock valley to which leads just one narrow road among the rocks – the gorge As-Siq. Petra is famous for its cut-rock structures. The ancient times (from III century BC to I century) was the citie's brillance, since it was the Nabataeans capital city. The Nabataeans themselves called Petra "Rakmu" which means "colourful".  The yester days capital city of the Nabataeans is one of the most intriguing places in the world. In greek is called "Petra", in hebrew "Sela", both of these words mean "rock", since the city was cut in sandstone, which are sparle in red, brown, purple and yellow. The lost city of Petra was forgotten for 1000 years.

Pick up around 01:30 am, transfer to the airport and boarding. Departure to Taba, the flight around 55 minutes. Transfer by bus from the airport to the port, a cruise to Akaba (around 45 min.). Transfer to Petra. The way to Petra leads through the narrow gorge, which is called Siq. During our way, we will admire numerous reliefs on walls, shrines, remains of the system leading water to the city. Getting out of the gorge we will see the most famous structure – The Treasury, and also Royal Tombs, The Roman Theatre, The Temenos Gate. We will reach the temple Qasr El Bint which is a Palace of the Pharaoh's Daughter. Lunch* - during visiting. Coming back to Akaba –city tour. Transfer to the port – cruise to Taba. Dinner box. Departure to Hurghada around midnight. Arrival and transfer to hotel.
