There are 4 main types of ecsema;

Atopic Dermatitis
This is where the skin reacts abnormally and easily to irritants including, food and environmental allergens and becomes red, flaky and very itchy. Affected areas of the body include inner sides of elbows & the knees.

Contact Dermatitis
This is an inflammation of the skin which results from contact of an external substance with the skin and this then takes much longer to disappear or fade, unlike atopic dermatitis which tends to flair up over minutes or hours.

Dyshidrotic Ecsema
This is ususally used to describe small, itchy blisters or an irration on the hands and the feet.

Nummular Ecsema
Usually this form of eczema appears as "coin-shaped" patches of irritated skin. The areas most commonly affected by the rash are the arms, back, buttocks, and lower legs. These may be crusted, scaling and extremely itchy.

Treatment is usually offered in the form of creams, medicines, and sometimes steroids, which are usually prescribed by a doctor to help in the short term, and this may help the condition but does not usually cure.

It can make life very difficult for sufferers, who may become highly self conscious of their body and the rash and this can stop them participating in school, outdoor activities or anything which involves showing their skin and taking clothes off.

There are other choices available, you no longer need to feel embarrassed or self conscious and suffer in silence under lots of hot clothing. There is a natural alternative that can help clear the inflammed skin in 2 weeks.
