Sept. 28, 2009 - PRLog -- Finding the right gift to say thank you to team members is not difficult for an organization looking for something to give employees, vendor teams, or customer groups.  The easiest and often best solution when shopping for a diverse group of people is a book.  This gift solution will fit multiple needs if it is a copy of a business book that would be relevant to the recipients.  It is simple because giving books means no dietary restrictions or individual preferences to consider.  This makes the shopping easier, especially if ordering on-line and direct shipping to the final destination.

Giving a book sounds easy enough, but there are so many books out there to choose from.  How does one choose which book is the best option to give to a team?  Start by considering whether to give individual or group gifts.  If you want to give a gift that the whole team can use, consider a book that has example forms the group can use to make their jobs easier.  “R.A!R.A!  A Meeting Wizard’s Approach” by Shirley Fine Lee (ISBN 1-4196-5367-9) is an example of such a book.  It has meeting planning and follow-up forms, as well as tips on how to handle common problems that occur in meetings.  If you want more than a book, a gift basket may be created around the meeting topic.  Using a utility tote the team can carry to and from their meetings as the basket, add:  multiple colored dry-erase markers or flip chart markers, roll of masking tape, a minute timer, notebook to store team minutes, sticky notes or colored index cards, and felt-tip pens for note making.

If individual gifts are desired, consider books for specific purposes such as time management, goal setting, process mapping, meeting management, delivering presentations, or project management.  Everyone can get the same book or different books depending on their needs.  Different books may rotate around to other team members as they are read so everyone can improve in new areas.  How to pick the best book for individual giving may be trickier though.  An option to use for getting book recommendations is to search for the particular purpose as a keyword to find books based on popular sales or customer star-ratings on www.Amazon.com.  If selecting a book based on star ratings, be sure to read any on-line reviews to help verify the book will meet the intended purpose.

With the great selection of business books available, finding the right thank you gift for team members is now easier.  Giving a book makes saying thank you to employees, vendor teams, or customer groups so much simpler.  With the book be sure to include a card or note inside saying thanks for prior year of service and something about working together in the future.
