Discount Ski Lift Tickets For Mt Baldy Now On Sale

Mt Baldy Ski Lift now offering season passes at almost 50% off. Offer will expire on opening day.

Sept. 30, 2009 - PRLog -- Discount ski lift tickets and season passes for the 2009/10 are now on sale according to Mt Baldy Ski Lifts.

“Buy a season pass now and get it at almost half price. It doesn’t get much better than that,” states Ron Ellingson, V.P. Marketing for Mt Baldy Ski Lifts in Southern California.

“This offer expires soon and our price will increase as we get closer to opening day. The price for season passes will not get any cheaper than it is today. Once we open for skiing there will not be any discounts on any season passes.”

The special discount lift ticket offer coincides with the installation of a new 9 million gallon reservoir that significantly increases Mt Baldy’s snow making capabilities.

Mt Baldy is the closest ski resort to Los Angeles, Orange County and most of the Inland Empire. The ski lifts can be reached within 60 minutes from most of these areas.

Mt Baldy offers all levels of skiing and boarding from the very beginner to the steepest vertical drop in Southern California. With 26 runs spanning 3 mountains covering 800 acres and a 2,100 vertical drop Mt Baldy offer an experience for skiers and boarders of all abilities.

“As a ski area Mother Nature is our best friend, at the same time she does provide us with one of our biggest problems. We have south facing slopes and while we get excellent snow it melts quickly.”

“Our existing reservoir only holds 1 millions gallons of water and the limited capacity inhibits our ability to make snow. This has always been a source of frustration for us.”

“We operate the ski area under license from the Forestry Service so any changes or improvements require their approval. To obtain permission we have to submit Impact Studies to the Forestry Service to prove that any changes will not adversely effect the environment.”

“After 15 years of studies and negotiations we finally received permission to install the new 9 million gallon reservoir.  This will provide us with the water we need to make more snow when needed and maintain better coverage on all of our ski runs. This will be good news to our skiers and snowboarders.”

Derek Clarke a skier from Ontario California says “I have been a big fan of Mt Baldy for years. I can be skiing within 35 minutes from my home. I don’t have to spend half the day driving to and from the ski area. Unfortunately one of the biggest concerns about Mt Baldy has been the inconsistent snow coverage. Once I heard about the vastly improved snow making capabilities I purchased a season pass right away.”

“Although Mt Baldy is my first choice, in the past I have been forced to go elsewhere when conditions were not quite adequate. I can see with increased snow making I will be spending much more time at Baldy. That suits me just fine!”

Ellingson concludes, “Our offer of discount lift tickets coincides with the installation of our brand new reservoir because we want to encourage skiers and snowboarders to test the new conditions during the upcoming season.”
