PRLog -- This headcount describes mostly traditional students primarily pursuing undergraduate degrees at the main campus in Cheyney, PA, Delaware and Chester Counties.
Cheyney University officials also affirm that their mission is to remain a small, liberal arts university with an emphasis on access and opportunity for the region’s students. The University projects that it will grow to approximately 2,000 students in the next five years. However, the University is more aggressively seeking to provide convenient undergraduate degree programs to citizens in the Philadelphia region through its Urban Center at 700 and Market Streets in Philadelphia. One such degree program is the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies—a flexible degree program which allows nontraditional students the opportunity to transfer in college credits and to petition for credit for outcomes from lifelong learning. Cheyney University is also working to develop partnerships with a variety of organizations and agencies to respond to the need to increase the college-going rate of citizens in the Philadelphia region. Some of these partners include Abington Hospital and the School District of Philadelphia.
