The Urban Soul Affair - Boston's Soul- Funk Jazz Show of The Year!!!

Oct. 29, 2009 - PRLog -- DORCHESTER - Touted as "The Best Live Soul, Funk and Jazz Show to happen in Boston this year," THE URBAN SOUL AFFAIR will be taking place on November 21, 2009, at the William E Reed Auditorium (Prince Hall Grand Lodge), 24 Washington Street, Dorchester, MA 02121. Doors open at 8:30 PM and the show starts at 10:30.

THE URBAN SOUL AFFAIR is a Pre-Thanksgiving Dance with a twist, a live soul-funk-jazz band, Liberation Music - MGM Recording Artists The Bass Mint Bros and an a-list of guest artists including Mine Recording Artist, Allyssa Jones, and Liberation Music -MGM Recording Artists Phillip Aaron and Mwalim. This night will also be a celebration of the release of Mwalim's new CD, "The Liberation Sessions: Soul of the City."

The Liberation Sessions is a funky, groovy soulful journey into sound. From the fertile musical imagination of one of today's most talented soul artists and producers, the album/ CD is built around the concept of a fictional radio show, "The Liberation Sessions" on the equally fictional radio station, WBAR-FM. Mwalim explains, "I grew up listening to radio stations like WBLS and Kiss-FM in New York and remember the Friday night shows featuring mix shows, dance music and so forth. I wanted to try to capture that eclectic flavor on this album, which is why I worked with a range of artists... soul, hip-hop, acid jazz, spoken-word... a little something for everybody." Chock full of funky, head bobbing music and wonderful skits.
